Pre-season trades
On July 1, head coach Jason Kidd, was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for two second-round draft picks in 2015 and 2019. To replace Kidd, the Nets signed Lionel Hollins as head coach. On July 10, the Nets traded Marcus Thornton to the Boston Celtics and the draft rights to Edin Bav?i? and ?lkan Karaman to the Cleveland Cavaliers, for Jarrett Jack and Sergey Karasev.
